My name is Jim Norton. I am an author of true crime stories.

Gold Badge Writing is a collection of books, written by me, which capture my experiences during my career. The first two books were written to allow the reader into the life of a street cop. They are titled "The Way it Was....A Cop's story" and "Volume Two. " The calls described are real and range from comical, funny, sad and even terrifying.

My newest project "Ivey, badge 44" encompasses the tragic, true crime biography of a Salina Police Officer's murder, the aftermath and far beyond. This compelling story will open eyes to what happens when a Police Officer loses their life in the line of duty and how a true monster can shatter everything we hold dear. Ivey, badge 44 is a biographical tribute to the life and death of Salina Kansas, Police Officer Jerry R. Ivey.
